Racanelli Completes Plattduetsche
Home Society Adult Home
Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. recently completed the addition of a 5,000-square foot adult home on behalf of the Plattduetsche Home Society, a Long Island-based charitable organization which has been providing elder care and adult home services since 1923. The colonial-style home is located at 1150 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square.
According to Racanelli’s Project Manager Bob Latuga, The new adult home features an exterior insulation finish system (EIFS), Fypon moldings, drywall, acoustical ceilings and quarry tile flooring.
The modern, fireproof building was specifically designed and built for the maximum safety, security and convenience of the home’s adult residents. Among the special provisions incorporated into the building to assist the home’s elderly handicapped residents are an exterior concrete ramp with metal hand railings, exterior porch sitting area and new handicap-accessible main lobby entrance. Also featured are large elevators, corridors with handrails, a complete sprinkler system, electronic smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and public address system. The building is set on seven acres of a well-manicured lawn with many large trees to create a serene, park-like setting.
