History

Sixty years ago, the patriarch of the Racanelli family, Nicholas Racanelli, recognized the need for commercial/industrial building and development on Long Island.

He carefully identified locations where he felt businesses would thrive; sites in close proximity to the major thoroughfares, rails and airports. He began developing the land and constructing high quality office and industrial buildings. Eventually, his sons took the reins, continuing the legacy. They developed over 1,250 acres of commercial/industrial property and constructed over 300 buildings, occupying in excess of 13 million square feet.

Through the 1980’s, the family’s third generation recognized the capacity and opportunity to build not just for themselves but for others, and started the transformation of the company’s operations from a development based business to include General Contracting and Construction Management services.

Since 1992, under the name Racanelli Construction Company Inc, Nicholas H., Michael, Richard and Marty have managed the company in much the same way their grandfather, father and uncles did – with vision, and a commitment to high quality construction and customer service.
